interesting deduction, but the conclusion is not valid....."using only a single
central location will rule out a lot of members every year".......when the
National is held on the east or west coast.i.e. Florida, Oregon...more members
are absent then when the National was held in Ohio or St Louis...a much more
accurate statement..."when the National is held on the east or west coast (
with the exception of Georgia) THIS will rule out a lot of members ...we need
to do the Right thing...not the Fair thing....I had a long discussion with my
good friend Dick Whalen about "Fair vs. Right"...these terms many times are
different from one another....not that it matters , but I'm smarter than I
look..lol...FB

between
east, west, and central locations makes so much
sense. This way, there can be a National within driving
distance (within 1000 miles) of almost every member at
least once every 3 or 4 years. Using only a single central
location will rule out a lot of members every year.

It is understandable that almost everyone wants to drive instead of fly the
dogs to the National. However site location will always be an issue. For
some it will be a 20 or 30 minute jaunt, where they can come home and sleep
in thier own beds each night, for others it will always be a 2 to 24 hour
drive (or more), no matter where it is held. its a case of 1 year its just
down the road, the next its half way across the country. The idea of
placing the location in as close to the middle of the states as possible is
valid, therefore making it just as long for the east coasters as it is for
the west coasters, but it will always be closer to the midwesters, if it is
decided to keep the site close to the middle of the country. Honestly there
is no perfect place to put it that makes travel for all equal. You just do
the best you can for all involved.
