I can relate to that. My daughter wanted a dog of her own and cam home with
a Springer Spaniel. This dog would not listen, when she was called she ran
circles around me. She could not even be caught while racing around. And a
mouth! I had people come to my house at 6:00 in the morning telling me to
shut up this dog, and she was still in the house !! Finally told my daughter
either this dog leaves or I will. Found a home for her quickly. There is
just nothing like a GS.

Right now I am baby sitting my brother 2 Springer Spaniel and I can tell you
that they are brats!!! With me they are very tried brats :0) The 8 year old
Sunny was on my leather chair yesterday and when I pointed at her and told
her
OFF she gave me a full set of growling teeth!!! I said OFF again same
result. So
I walked behind the chair pick it up so she hit the floor. Dam I was mad, I
would hate to try to lift that big over stuff chair this morning :0) So far
she
has decided that I am Big Foot's bitch and she is doing what she is told :0)
You
should have seen Margo my 10.5 year old GSD female. When I gave the Off
command
and Sunny challenged me, Margo went under the dinning room table. She had
that
look on her face that said This is going to get ugly :0)
Long story short. I will never have any other breed, just because a dog
is small
doesn't make him any easier to deal with. I doubt that I could train a small
breed although chair throwing worked well with the Springer :0)

There will never be an "after" shepherds for me I will always have one
by my side but there is an after showing. Shepherds and I am having a
ball. Many breeds blend well with shepherd I have found the right one
