Melanie Fuellgraf posted a letter recently from the SV stating that they
recognized the FCI White Swiss Shepherd as a separate breed. AWSA did ask the
GSDCA to write a letter not to protest the introduction of the White Shepherd
breed (as the AKC FSS staff asked AWSA to do. In July 2011, the Board voted
"YES" to write the letter. Then, an emergency meeting was called and they
rescinded the decision in August.
Since GSDCA members have various opinions on the situation might the best
solution be a vote to solve it once and for all. Having this situation
dividing the membership is not the solution after a vote the membership
will need to accept the outcome. As far as members leaving they will
probably leave for one reason or another anyway as voting is the American way
for the solution. If a GSDCA member does not vote
they have no say but the majority will decide the outcome.

agreed they would send the letter
requested (to the AKC, stating the PC had no
objections to a separate
breed). Then there was a quick phone meeting and that
decision was reversed....
5-6 years ago? Somebody w/ more time on their hands
can go back and
check. Big to-do.
