The OTCH is an obedience title. Altered dogs can compete in any performance event and become a CH in that event - so can ILP The Obedience Victor/Victrix can be altered. It is an award given by the GSDCA - not the AKC and the dog if it has not won a ribbon is put before a judge to determine if he/she is a good example of the breed. The problem arose when the dog that won Combined was a white - that is a disqualifying fault and the Obedience Victrix title was Not bestowed - that was independent of whether or not she was fixed. Many obedience people take their dogs to a trial when puppies to get a ribbon, then alter their animals and compete - I assume this is also true of rally, agility and herding. A Bitch in season can track - she just goes LAST. Limited registration - just means the dog's get cannot be registered - they do not have to be altered. I thought that dogs in the Veterans class whether altered or not could not compete for the points because is was a non regular class.
