[ SHOWGSD-L ] AKC Canine Partner

Hi All,
As an AKC Delegate, Show Coordinator and owner of an Oops who is a Canine
Partner, I want to made a correction to Beth's statement that they can only be
shown at "stand alone events". This is incorrect as they can be shown at
Performance Events held in conjunction with AKC Confirmation events as long at
the Show giving Club allows it. It will state right on the Premium List , AKC
Canine Partners may compete at this show.
I will also say that what led me to the Confirmation Ring years ago was when
after losing my Troll granddaughter at 15 and my cousin adopt a GSD pup for me
from the Bid A Wee in Long Island. I took Sheba to Obedience Training as we had
not had a pup in a long time and she needed something to do.
I got hooked and her wonderful trainer help me to get an ILP on her. She had to
be spayed, I had to fill out the reason why I could not register her and send
two photos, front and side views.
Sheba looked exactly like a throw back to Flora Beckenmeyer and if it was not
for the ILP and going to shows and wandering over to the Confirmation ring, my
30 years of showing would have never happened. I would have loved to known were
she came from, lived to 16 and ahalf, she did have bad hips, but competed until
age 7, jumping 36 inches and could still jump on the sofa at 16 and was never
sick once in her life.
