a week or so ago, I placed/retired our brood bitch Lucy to a wonderful family with 3 acres of land, and tons of love to reap onto a dog. Prior to coming to us, Lucy was strictly a house dog, and then off an on in the house with us. She loves the great outdoors and will assume the housedog/outside dog role in her new home as well. She is adjusting well and we are going over to the Island to make sure all is well on Tues. However......................... I got an email from Lucy's new mom: They also have horses, you see, and as far as I know, Lucy has never encountered horses. She is great with them, calm obedient, but she has developed an affinity for, you guessed it, horse poo. The new owners are a bit (just a bit) distressed and asking if there is anything they can to stop her eating horse poo. (God help them --and her - the housedog days will be over--if she starts rolling in it!!) Anyone out there with any ideas??
