One short thought about PAWS...many of the Congressmen/women and
Senators are claiming that they are receiving MANY letters of support
for this bill and very little against. Rather than worry about where
the letters (claimed to be written by so many of us) are going, please
try one more time...call or fax the representatives of YOUR OWN STATE
and say something like "while this Bill looks good on first appraisal,
it really is a harmful Bill" -- this way you don't insult your
legislators who have been thinking of supporting it.
I was told today by someone who used to work for the AKC that Ron
Menaker now realizes that he made a great mistake in endorsing the Bill,
but he will NEVER back down. Typical...........
I think the bill will pass. I don't want it to, but I think it
will. Like much of what involves AKC involvement, it's a "done deal"
before we ever hear about it...............
