There will be several additional items on the ballot this year as I want input
from “ all “ members. As I’ve said at the end of each column in the Review, “
I’m Listening “.

It’s so nice to see activity on the list! Gary and others can answer most of
this better than I, but I can comment on the “going outside” issue. Many of
the members have expressed a strong preference for having the show on grass
rather than the Purina surface. At Purina, we can’t bring in sod - - so
grass means outside. This issue “heated up” just recently (at least as far
as I know), and there was much discussion on Facebook and emails to the
board. I sent an email to the board myself, and was very impressed with the
considered and thoughtful responses I received, and with the fact that the
board met and discussed the members’ stated concerns.
As I understand it, the decision is to do Purina 2018 as previously set
(indoors), as the potentially available field may be impractical for many of
our members to access. 2019, Colorado. 2020-2021 Purina (per existing
contracts, I think). 2022 rotate east, etc. (So it’s 2 out of 4 at Purina,
unless that changes.) I’m sure before 2019, 2020 and 2021 we should have
more information about the costs/benefits of various scenarios. I hope that
as many of us as possibly can will continue to show at each
National...regardless of the surface and other variables.
