Well, counts and estimates.
I spent the evening (6:15-7:30) watching waders come to roost on the island
below Wheeler Dam. Tallied 8 species. Here's my numbers:Great Blue Heron 20
estimate Great Egret 180 estimate Snowy Egret 8Little Blue Heron 242Cattle
Egret 2150 estimated by 10's
Black-crowned Night-Heron 6White Ibis 5 (all immature, flew in from west at
6:50)Tricolored Heron 1 (immature, flew in from south at 6:30)
I didn't watch over the dam, so probably missed a lot of Cattle Egrets coming
in from the northeast and east.
