Around 4:30 p.m. on 16 December 2021 Fran Menapace and I saw a Black-necked
Stilt (no, we were not drinking) and 28+ Sandhill Cranes at Walker Pond,
Lauderdale County. The stilt was in the west "bay," not far away. I tried to
get a photo but it was raining and getting dark, but there was no question
about identification. The cranes were "all the way in the back."
