The T350T targa panels aren't a great fit and can be very noisy wind & rattle
etc + the T's are that much rarer and usually more expensive
T350 cabin can seem claustrophobic compared to a Chimaera especially if the
interior is a dark one, boot capacity is good but not as good as the Chim
Engine worries shouldn't be an issue if it's been well looked after especially
if it's a later one/had a rebuild etc, so check thoroughly when buying (happy
to help with inspection if required)
Engine noise V8/SP6 is a personal thing, I love the V8 but think the T350 has a
better exhaust note than the Tuscan and could probably live with one, only you
can really make this decision.
Running costs are comparable with the Chimaera, yes there are a few TVR
specific parts where you have no option but to use the usual suspects and pay
the Tax but generally service items etc are much the same, I've always worked
on the premise of if you have to ask if you can afford it - the answer is NO! -
Running a TVR isn't the cheapest hobby in the world but I wouldn't fret cost
wise on moving away from the Chim unless of course I was Declan ;-))

from there. But I think a proper test drive is around 300 miles and I can’t see
that happening. The T350 seems like a great car for short blasts, as I reckon
you probably have to drive it harder to get the best from it. The Chimaera is a
great all-rounder, especially for longer journeys; big boot, comfortable seats
and more relaxing to drive, etc. The T350 seems a bit more ‘special’ though as
they’re quite rare and stunning to look at, right?. The running cost are higher
though, as parts are more expensive. Hmm….
According to those in the know the chassis doesn’t seem to suffer from the
heavy corrosion problems of the Chimaera, so that’s good. However, the
reliability and maintenance of the S6 is a worry. After spending 8 years
developing what I believe is one of the most reliable Chimaera 450s around is
this something I really want to do? If you don’t know my car, R450 WOW, see the
November 2019 edition of Sprint article titled ‘Future-Proofing the Marque’ to
give an overview of the work done. It’s extensive! Maybe I am mad to consider
parting with it having got it how I want it but that’s missing the point. And
I’m not getting any younger… So, to T or not to T? It’s the weekend. Discuss….

PS. Anyone want to buy a really well sorted Chimaera 450 – maybe? But it won’t
be cheap. Beware, I may just pull the plug.
