Def the right decision Nick & hope you soon feel the benefit.Retirement gives
you the opportunity for new adventures However Baz thinks he's worked out
retirement., He eats, drinks & sleeps in the afternoon. My thoughts are its
just like having an old dog!All the bestLin xx

Hi all
I hope you are keeping well & able to enjoy the wonderful weather we’re having
at the moment.
Usually at this time of year I would be posting up events to visit & ideas for
a Sunday drive but sadly, for me, this still can’t happen.
As many of you know I had a mini stroke at the end of March, I’m ok & still
recovering but it’s become apparent that going back to work as I did whilst
trying to recover simply wasn’t a good idea. The last couple of weeks have been
a bit iffy & as I result (as a family) the decision was made that the best
thing I could do is to quit work….which I did this week!
So it looks like I’m officially retired, I might do the odd bit of work here &
there on the future but the plan is to get fitter & healthier over the next few
months & see how it goes.
The main problem I have is I can feel great for a few days, plan something then
feel like crap all of a sudden. As such hoofing around in a V8 leading a convoy
probably isn’t a good idea. I am still driving the Griff on occasions but at my
own pace & never venturing far from home.
At this stage that clearly puts a damper on arranging drives out, or certainly
taking part in them. But please don’t let that stop you guys & girls using this
forum to arrange get togethers, please don’t waste this beautiful spell of
weather waiting for me to post something.
I would be more than happy to help with routes etc if that would help, & I’m
happy to keep an eye out & suggest events that might be of interest. You might
also find me putting some ‘last minute’ ideas up if I feel up to it, this might
include something during the week for us old retired fogies. (Which, let’s face
it, is most of us!)
You never know, this might all change in a week & I hope to find myself more
than able to get involved…I bloody hope so, but thought it only fair to update
you on my situation. I’m not ignoring you, I haven’t lost interest, I’m just a
teeny bit buggered at the moment.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, hope to see some of you at the West
Malling event on the 30th….I’ll post up some more details soon.
All the best
Nick
