Hi all
Quick reminder about BSG if anyone is interested, as you may recall a few of us
have booked this but be aware the club is only taking bookings & payments up to
August 26th.
If you’re interested I would advise booking before then as I’ve got a feeling
the club admin staff will probably be at Silverstone Classic on that date!
I’ve just paid for Carrie & I, total price was £96.00 for both venues for the
pair of us.
If anyone’s interested we plan to join a few friends heading down on Friday,
I’m quite tempted to make a slight detour & head to Cumberwell Park for a bite
of lunch on the way.
https://www.cumberwellpark.com/
This is owned by my brother in laws family so if you fancy a drive over
Salisbury Plain & lunch to break up the drive a bit I’ll have a word with my
little sis & make it happen. It’s only a 90 minute drive from there to the
hotel in Chard.
Let me know what you think.
All the best.
Nick

Subject: [selnwktvrcc] FW: The Big Southern Gathering 10th September 2022 (with
optional stopover) - Communications ramp up!
Hi all
Please see below re The Big Southern Gathering.
I know some of you have booked but the early ticket sales have been
disappointing to say the least.
You know I’ve been concerned about this actually going ahead but I am assured
it definitely is, I’m a lot happier about it now as its being properly managed
& pushed on various forums.
Carrie & I are now thinking we will come home from the Champagne trip on the
Monday (we were going to stay out there for a few extra days) & then head down
to BSG later in the week or even early Saturday morning.
So, does this float anyone’s boat? Shout out if it does, we have several
options regarding the format & how many days we stay over which we can discuss,
plus of course we need to discuss accommodation as doing it all in a day would
be pushing it a bit! I may be able to offer a solution to accommodation that
about an hour’s drive from the event.
Over to you….what’s your thoughts?
All the best
Nick
The Big Southern Gathering 10th September 2022 (with optional stopover)
Come and join us for a relaxed and enjoyable day or weekend, based around the
world famous Haynes Motor Museum and Historic Helicopters in the stunning
Somerset countryside.
Saturday starts off 10am at Haynes Motor Museum, BA22 7LH, with over 400
classic cars and bikes to wander around, it is also a living and working
Museum. You will also get a full guided tour through the museum and the
Restoration Workshops.
Note: the restoration workshops are not open to the public and TVRCC have
secured exclusive access!
Entrance fee includes complimentary tea, coffee and Danish on arrival plus
sandwich lunch in the Napier Suite, as well as full guided tours through the
museum and the Restoration Workshops, which aren’t usually open to the general

a charity which aims to raise money to preserve, maintain and operate a fleet
of unique, vintage helicopters.
After exploring these magnificent machines you will retire to the function room
(with licenced bar) at approx. 6pm for a light dinner of freshly baked pizzas
and buffet. The evening is planned to be an informal get together so we can sit
and chat, with a bit of grub and a few drinks thrown in as well.
From here you can either head home or join a few who have already planned to
stay over, there is free camping on site at the Helicopter location or you can
use one of the local hotels.
For those who stopover and are hopefully not to hung over, there will be a
range of optional drives out Sunday or you can just visit some of the stunning
local countryside and coastline.
Hope you can make it.
