Here is a summary of Google Voice. It is free service.
We get a phone number for SDAA contact and use the "Do Not Disturb"
function to direct calls to voicemail and call back later. We can customize
greeting messages to ask for a record phone number.

How to activate
1. You need to have a Google Account
2. I believe you need to register at least one phone number to associate
with it.
3. You will get one phone number related for Google Voice
- With $20, you can have another phone number. Work like one device
has two different numbers.
4. You can register many phone numbers if you want all of it to ring
when receiving phone calls
- This is designed to ring multiple phones, Home, Work, Mobile at the
same time and you just pick up a convenient one.
Receiving Phone Call
1. Google voice will ring registered phone numbers
- It can be google hangouts on mobile devices or web interface on
computer.
- You can select which phone number to ring
2. There is "Do Not Disturb" option not to ring any registered phone and
will send call directly voicemail
- It will notify user by email with transcription
- Greeting message can be customized
3. Caller identification option
- You can enable the option that google voice will ask callers name
and play recorded name when you pick up the phone.
4. Free long distance call
I've been using the service for years and am very happy with the service.
