Yes, I've cleared it with a soft wire, removed the hose and visualized that

Could it be the tell tale is clogged? I use a 2' piece of monel wire and work
it through the tell tale hole to see if it is clogged when I don't have a good
flow. 95% of the time it was just a clog in the tell tale. AJ

Yesterday I removed the thermostat from the motor and it appears to be stuck in
the open position. I started and ran the motor for a few seconds to verify
that water was indeed flowing from the thermostat housing. I replaced the
housing cover and again ran the motor. The water flow from the tell-tale
remains very weak, only sputtering. I will replace the thermostat on each
motor and then run the boat using only the affected motor to see if it
overheats. The writer on the PDQ website says that if cooling water is flowing
from the thermostat housing, then cooling of the engine is taking place. While
I haven't read any positive reports, I may use Salt-Away to try to flush out
the corrosion that is apparently blocking the cooling passages. If anyone has
a better solution or product, please pass it on.

I have found the PDQ forum www.pdqforum.com to be a great source of info
relating to the Yamaha outboard. Just go to the outboard section and search all
the threads. A lot of info on how to unclog the water passages.
