Just to weigh in here, I have to agree with John on this. My bank lets me cut
checks out of my account for free. I just have to set up a vendor. For
vendors who do not accept electronic deposits they actually make a paper check.
My dentist received one and threw it away.
But if that doesn't work I understand the reluctance some might have for making
a PayPal distribution to a person--but John has donated far more to the club
than he could be expected to collect across a decade of membership payments. I
think we could encourage payments be made out to him--they can still list what
the payment is for, right? I haven't used PayPal in years, except for a few
illicit purchases to China for which I'm sure any applicable statute of
limitations has long expired.

Are there any barriers or inconveniences of setting up a direct Paypal account
for the club? Mostly a concern for the outward-facing optics of having payments
route through a board member's personal account. On a related note, I have the
snack fund bucket here at my place, to the tune of $114.28, I feel it be best
to deposit this in the club account. Thoughts on either from the board?
