Subject: ASTRO LEAGUE DUES BILL ENCLOSED – Payment Due by June 30, 2018
Dear Jenny (or current ALCor):
*Your Society Membership Dues Bill is attached:* If you are no longer the
current ALCor or do not handle dues please assist us by forwarding this
e-mail to the person who takes care of annual dues for your club's
membership with the Astronomical League.
*Electronic dues payment option:* We are again offering the opportunity of
paying annual dues through PayPal to those who feel it would be easier for
them to pay in this way. Anyone selecting this option will be required to
pay the *additional 3.0%* *fee *associated with the payment. PayPal allows
you to use these major credit cards: VISA, MasterCard, American Express and
Discover as well as checking account debit.
*Traditional payment option:* Dues can be paid by check as in the past. To
pay by check follow the instructions in the attached Dues Bill.
Whichever payment option you choose, here's what to do:
*Step 1:* Calculate your dues using the attached Dues Bill for fiscal year
2018-19.
*Step 2:* *Pay dues by June 30, 2018 for Society Membership from 7-01-2018
through 6-30-2019.*
To pay your annual dues thru PayPal:
1. Sign on to your PayPal account.
2. Select the send “Send Money” tab.
3. Enter the following email address in the “To” box –
treasurer@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (Make sure to use .org and not .com).
4. Enter the amount of the dues you are paying *plus an additional
3.0%* of your dues.
5. Under “What are you sending money for?” select "I'm paying for
goods and services" and click Continue.
6. Under “Email to Recipient” enter 'Annual Dues' in the Subject
field. BE SURE to enter your *Society # and Society Name* in the Message
field. Without this piece of information it is very difficult to tell whom
a payment is from. Include the *number of members* you are paying for and
whether this is for *Full or Partial* club participation.
7. Review your payment and then click “Send Money”.
One last thing (important): In order to serve your members by mailing them
the Reflector magazine please keep sending your updated roster *once every
quarter* (by the 1st of January, April, July and October) to Mitch Glaze at
rosters@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Our records show the last time a roster was
received from your club was 2/6/2018. Be sure to include any changes to
your club ALCor, President and Treasurer as well.
When submitting club rosters, *we encourage your ALCor to report who your
club's newsletter editor is, along with their email address*. The AL will
send out, approximately quarterly, a small, 1/3 page article with current
news about the AL. If your editor wishes to use it, they're welcome to
place the article in your club's newsletter to inform members about the AL
and briefly summarize current AL news. Send rosters and club newsletter
editor contact info to Mitch Glaze at *rosters@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
