Mike – those are good images with good backgroundt. I thought about the Rye
Grass rest stop just west of Vantage, but decided it was too far. Again great
commitment. Mark

The old axiom; 'the amount of cloud cover in Spokane is directly
proportional to the interest/ rarity of the astronomical event' still holds,
lol.
Like Mark, who ventured to the Sprague Lake area to shoot the eclipse, I
chose farther and went to where "Grandfather cuts loose the ponies", also known
as the Wild Horses
Monument by Vantage
The view from the horses was great and there were no clouds and no wind!
Unlike a 'normal' lunar eclipse where, as the moon goes to red (totality)
and the Milkyway and stars all pop out. The time of totality was also the start
of dawn and the lightening of the sky. The darkest skies were a little before
totality this time.
Enjoy the shots,
Mike

Hi Mark
Great that you got to see it and get some images.
The west was completely clouded over from n Spokane.

What time did you go out? I went out at 4:15 and the moon looked normal.

Some images from this morning a couple miles north of Sprague using my canon 6d
and 300mm lens. Clouds just clearing, but sky/moon did not have much contrast.
