Hi Everyone,
I've heard Andrew Tink talk about his book and he also went into detail about
the process involved. We all struggle sometimes with what to
include in and what to leave out of our writing, but I was surprised that a
history of Australia in the 20th century could not include Azaria Chamberlain.
Come along on Thursday to hear his reason.
The other unusual thing I've learned is that as part of the ‘Authors for
Farmers’ fundraising for Buy a Bale, top Australian publishers and authors are
donating their time to look at partial or full manuscripts and offer feedback
on their development. Three top publishers (Annette Barlow (Allen & Unwin), Ali
Watts (Penguin Random House) and Sophie Green/Sophie Hamley (Hachette)), plus
half a dozen or so published authors are offering their time to look at your
manuscript. All these authors have agents and publishers and you just never
know… they might decide your manuscript is worth passing onto their people. But
at the very least, you can get valuable, personalised feedback on your project.
The manuscript assessment opportunities will be auctioned off via eBay,
starting on 15 October, auctioned in three rounds, beginning…
Round 1: 15 October
Round 2: 17 October
Round 3: 19 October
Auction reserves start at $99 for a manuscript assessment from an author with
one published book, $149 for a manuscript assessment from authors with multiple
books published, and $390 for a manuscript assessment from industry publishers.

Where has the past month gone? Something like 77 days to Christmas, we won't
think about that.
Our meeting is this week and Andrew Tink former NSW politician is coming to
speak about his book Australia 1901-2001, a narrative history. I've just been
browsing his website and discovered his other books.
This his the link, Andrew Tink<http://andrewtink.com/>
