The following message is self explanitory, but the short story is; Scott is visiting in Sun City, from Ohio, is interested a larger telescope and would like to look at some Dobsonians, especailly Obsession. He will drop by my house tomorrow, around 7:30pm, to look at the 14.5" scope, but if you have time give him a buz or e-mail for more discussion. I am an amateur astronomer and an Amateur Radio operator. I was hoping to find someone in the Pheonix area who might be willing to show me their Obsession Telescope. I have built some time ago my own 8"/F8 Dobsonian and I also own a Meade 2080/LX5, but lately I've begun to crave a bit more aperature. I stumbled on a website from an amateur in Tuscon and sent him email tonight. He has already returned my mail, but unfortunately he will be traveling and unavailable. He suggested I contacted your club. I have already talked with the president of the Suncity club, but he was unaware of any of his members having anything larger than 12.5". I have left messages for the presidents of the other major clubs, but none of them have returned my call. I drove out here from Ohio and only have a few days left before I have to return. Do you know of anyone who could help me? Even if the weather isn't cooperating, and it hasn't been, I would still like an oppotunity to see an Obsession as I am planning on building or buying a larger Dob and would welcome the chance to see how others have handled the unique difficulties involved in making such a large instrument. I am a die-hard do-it-yourselfer, but if I like the way someone else has built something I'm not as inclined to reinvent the wheel so to speak. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. I can be reached on my cell at 6142076528, or email at ai8s@xxxxxxx Thank you for your time. May all your skies be dark ones. Scott E, Ferko
