Stan, I did not think to look at the downloads page. You have a point. Since SAC has links to HNSky and Astrobyte why not Astro Helper? It is an interesting situation. Does SAC "endorse" freeware only, or only those programs which have been developed with the direct help/support of SAC members? I do not think it is a big deal, but any software on the SAC links/downloads pages amounts to a club endorsement of those products. To my knowledge, HNSky and Astrobyte are not SAC-authored programs. Others would know more than me on this. Did SAC members "help" the authors of these programs in any way? If so, then linking to them would make sense. It's funny, Steve and I were discussing Han Kleijn's use of the SAC database in HNSky at Sentinel last weekend. If I remember right, the use of the SAC database has an informal, non-binding cost to the distributor, but that may be on for-purchase software only. Steve would know more than me on this. Now I will be quiet and let members who know what they are talking about take over this conversation. He states his software will remain freeware due to data sources. The program seems to work well (planetary data to be added soon)! However Matt brings curiosity questions into this. Are/were the current programs we have on the download page created by members? As this is a non-member request I can agree with Matt but wonder where the line gets drawn. I feel the programs we have listed on the downloads page are very good. Were they created by members?
