Margaret,
OK, except for HOWVEN - it's HOUVEN <g>
John
John
Would indexing it as
COLEY, Lyal
And in the other names
HARRIS-VAN DER HOWVEN-COLEY, Lyal
Would this be okay as it seems he was known as Lyal Coley by everone.

Margaret,
Looks to me like COLEY is his "adopted" surname so he doesn't have to use
HARRIS-Van Der HOUVEN-COLEY. Can't say I blame him <g>
At a guess, his mother was Van Der HOUVEN-COLEY, and his father was HARRIS.
Of course, strictly according to our rules, the Harris etc should be treated
as a nickname - but commonsense says it's not a nickname.
John
How is this notice indexed. The name in brackets most times is a nick name
or maiden name. It is like he could have had three other surnames.
