There will be an event on the UNM campus next Friday, August 24th 11-2. Our
wonderful Lisa has been working her tail off to help some UNM professors and
students start a new group aimed to organizing UNM students to become engaged
by registering to vote, participating in the process, and getting to the polls.
We need VRAs at this event to register these students. You will not be able to
sit at the table because they will be giving away food and gifts; this could be
construed as "buying" votes which is a big no-no. So, you will need to walk
around that area with clipboards - a mobile operation. You will need a
clipboard and at least 20 voter registration forms, your logs, and your VRA
form. I can give you a sign for your clipboard to identify your purpose. We
will turn in the completed forms that afternoon, so you won't have to worry
about that part.
