Sorry for the confusion. Amy has helped design our tshirts and brochure for the
past few years and attends family camp. Amy's submission is a late response to
the Contest. As this is her area of expertise, she was busy with work so missed
the deadline. She did request specifics to help her. I responded to her
questions as you see below.
Timing and communication seems to have led us here. How ever we missed Nick's
submission, we proceeded to consider approaching more people for submissions.
In hind sight, we probably should have begun this way versus a contest. The
whole concept of branding and logos is so critical to an organization, that
leaving it to a contest, might set us back instead of advance the ministry.
That being said, I think we should apologize to Nick for missing his submission
and let him and the others know how the board has decided to proceed with the
Logo search. I like our current logo yet know that it is not simple and doesn't
transfer well to shirts and cups and such. To replace it, I'd like to be
'grabbed' by a new design. I think to get to that point, we need more input on
options.
So I am happy to have you continue to approach the other people we discussed at
the meeting in hopes of finding that new, dynamic, simple logo that grabs each
of us. I think for that, we should expect to pay more than a contest prize.

Hi John!
I'm happy to pass you the logo design project if that's something you'd like to
coordinate. You and staff should have the most imput into the logo. Maybe you
just want to coordinate it and let the board vote on your finalized choices?

Amy is from Everett and comes to Family Camp. She has done our t-shirt designs
the last few years. Graphic arts is her occupation. Upon John's request, I
emailed and asked if she would be interested in submitting some options for us.
She has done work for us in the past as a donation to Ross Point. If we
choose one of her designs, I think it would be nice to at least honor her with
the $100.
Here is the criteria that Amy was given by John (John's responses in yellow):
1. Where will the logo be primarily used? Everywhere, envelops letterhead,
brochures, tshirts...
2. What color preferences might you prefer? Is there a specific reason or
ones to avoid? Brown green blue
3. How many colors can the logo be? In the newsletter you said one color
but If you're going to be using the logo digitally (website, social media) it
might be a good idea to do a logo with a few colors and then when it needs to,
it can be simplified to one color easily. When the logo is all finished, I will
provide you with files for both. Let me know your thoughts. No particular
limitation.
4. Are there any specific elements (trees, etc) or a tagline that you
would prefer to see in the logo? Tag line the same
5. What exact words or tagline must be included in the logo? Engage
Encourage Equip ( My criteria is unique, memorable and simple.
Let me know if you need anything else.

Well this definitely introduces a new layer of complexity to the logo redesign
project. Before you even comment on her designs, we need to decide how we're
doing this.
I'm not sure why Amy submitted multiple logos at this point in time or what
she's been told. I had not contacted her to ask for anything yet. Does anyone
know if we promised to pay her something? Or was this a late submission for the
competition that was supposed to be done in January?
As of last night I was going to contact all our designers to see who wanted to
submit their bids and portfolio work. Now we have a full submission of art
before we had officially chosen her as our designer.
Can anyone share with me what was shared with Amy so that i know how to proceed
forward to work with and pay her or someone else to design the logo?
Thanks,
Angela

Hi Marta!
Hope you had a great week! Attached is a PDF of my Ross Point Logo 2016
submissions. It's a logo sheet so there are a variety of versions of my ideas.
Some ideas are shown as full color and black/white.
I would say these could definitely be fine-tuned and once a logo is chosen I
would be happy to give you a variety of files that you can use for many things
such as web, apparel, letterheads, business cards, email signatures, etc.
Thanks for this opportunity!!
Cheers,
Amy
