Hi everyone
Deakin University invites delegates to participate in The Inclusive
Education Summit (TIES) which will be held at Deakin University's
Waterfront Campus in Geelong on 26-28 October 2018. This years conference
theme is 'Inclusive education is a right, right?'

TIES is an annual conference that engages with the multiservice sectors of
education across the Australasian community. Now in its 4th consecutive
year, its remit is to draw together a network of educational practitioners,
researchers, students, advocacy and support organisations in ongoing
exchange about how to heighten equity in learning. Our objective is to
enhance and strengthen community capacity to respond critically, creatively
and constructively to the ongoing project of social inclusion and the
redress of marginalization and disadvantage.
This years TIES event features a keynote from Matthrew Wright from the
NDIA, as well as various presentations and workshops related to disability
and inclusive education across the sector.
Community Grants funding is available to support the attendance of people
with disabilities to attend TIES. If you have a disability, a family member
with a disability, or if you know of someone who might be interested in
attending and could benefit from financial support, make contact with Ben
Whitburn <b.whitburn@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> as soon as possible to express
interest. Eligible delegates will have a disability and be able to travel
to Geelong for all or part of the conference. Please note, funding is
limited and will be made available on a first come first serve basis.
Please outline in your email the nature of your accessibility needs and a
reason why you would like to attend TIES.
