I hit jackpot this time. The Tessar is just fine.
This one isn't mint, but it sure is in nice cosmetic condition.
The screen is very nice. The short throw on focusing, as you pointed out, takes
getting used to. I am not sure if I dislike it or not.
I keep reaching down with my hand to cock the shutter after winding ...
Rolleicords sit in my muscle memory.
I hate the shutter release. So I have a cable release (short one) that I use
instead. It makes it easier for me to steady the camera at slow speeds.

better after that. I suspect not.
The Contaflex S is Zeiss Ikon overengineering par excellence. No wonder Zeiss
could not compete against the elegant Pentax Spotmatic and other Japanese
SLRs with fully exchangeable lenses of that time.
However, the 45 mm Tessar on my specimen of the Contaflex I is surprisingly
sharp.
