Why, thank you! I try to focus lately on people - the city is easier, doesn’t
run off and one doesn’t need to be asked for permission, but portraiture is
more challenging.
I scan my negatives on Epson V550, that is a source both of joy and
frustration. It produces okay-ish quality for 120, little less so for 135, but
is still on-par with standard lab scanning and in the long run is much
affordable here in Austria.
I try to set the light and white balance straight in the scanning software (the
Epson Scan), so the post in Lightroom is minimal: crops to 1:1 ratio,
perspective correction, dust removal and sharpening. And flipping horizontally,
as I learned somewhere, that scanning on the ‘wrong’ side with emulsion down
gives slightly sharper images.
