Some decades ago, my first wedding went so well I got seduced by the
prospect of making such good money with so little effort. It was on
the second job that I learned what wedding shooters actually did to
earn their pay. Everything went bad except for my Rolleicord, the only
person or thing that functioned perfectly on that awful day.
From then on I have done weddings only on request. The pressure arises
partly because, of all photography jobs, it's the only one that if you
blow it, some people are going to hate you for the rest of their lives.
WARNING! NEVER! agree to shoot a wedding for friends or relatives.
It's like driving without a seat belt. Chances are, things will work
out fine. If they don't, the consequences can persistt for the rest of
your life.

You should have heard the objections! Of course the marriage didn'a last
either.

I've got to tell all you wedding photographers that, from where I stand during a wedding ceremony, my hat is off to you all!!
After watching you deal with cranky bitchy brides, overwrought mothers, drunk dads, squalling ringbearers.....whoosh, I wouldn't have your jobs for love nor money!!!
You earn every penny you make.....
