Marc, I don't see that there is an equivalence to the
Unified thread and to a standard metric thread.  For
the 3/8-16 thread the pitch distance is 0.0625".  This
is equal to 1.5875 mm.  The 3/8" (0.375") thread size
is slightly smaller than an M10 which has a thread
size of 0.3937" and a pitch of 1.5 mm.

If there were a hypothetical M9.5 thread (0.374") with
a 1.5 mm pitch, it would come quite close to matching
the 3/8-16 thread size.  But I don't see that there is
such an animal.
