Carlos, These are good photographs, what is important though is that other than a few marks (which can be touched out),the negatives have produced probably as good a result today as they would have done 50 years ago. Will we be able to say that about digital shots taken with the cameras of just 5 years ago, in 50 years time? Nothing will make me believe that digital files will out last silver as the 'master copy'. The only thing that can be done with a digital file is to make many identical copies and store them in different locations to reduce the risk of loss in a disaster scenario. Loss of quality would be the downfall with making duplicates from a negative/transparency. In 2000 years time a negative could be viewed by an archeologist but a CD would have him thinking about flying saucers. ;-) The actual prints are a different matter though. Thanks for your comments about the magazine. He developed them with Kodak D 76 and the film is Perutz Z (only data in the negs edges), I had scanned one of the negs with my former scanner and my father disliked the results, he is more comfortable now with the results from the Epson. My father said me yesterday these photographs were taken the year I or my brother were born and then 1956 or 1957; the 2.8C I used and use to take several of the photographs in my gallery was two or three years old only... http://www.flickr.com/photos/itarfoto/367532139/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/itarfoto/367532137/ Please see the largest version.
