I use it as well. It gives consistency to developing film and makes it fun. Doing it by hand is a drag, IMHO.
I think the film companies would be wise to make a simple automated way to develop film such as the CCP2, but even simpler. For Black and white one doesn't need temp control; for color one of course would.
