Eric, I believe autofocus issues are to blame for those who have complaints.
I had very poor luck getting sharp focus with these things until I started
ALWAYS forcing the camera into spot metering/focus. Then all one need do is
point the spot where needed, depress the shutter button half-way which locks
focus and exposure, recompose and shoot. Once I started doing the above, I
virtually never have unsharp images due to focus issues. In the default,
non-spot mode, it guesses wrong all too often. I sure wish it would stay in
