I just want to reiterate my thanks for the response I got to this.
I got a second Rolleinar .35 to try and it was as easy to fit as they
are intended to be, so i returned the original one.
If I hadn't had the info I found here, I might never have known and
would still be struggling valiantly with a faulty unit in ten years'
time....
Now my medium-to-close Rolleiflex Tele usage will be slick, fast and
deadly. Well- sort of.....
