Hi Marc,

good to know that these are easy to find. The hood included is not original (or not marked Contax or Zeiss Ikon at least).

Want to date the black dial body and lens?

Body: Y61104

Lens: Zeiss Opton Sonnar 50mm f2 T
Nr. 888425

Eveready case, with name tag in bottom:
Col. H.P.R. Hansen (military?)

Cheers,
Thor

The included hood ("Ednalite" model 601 thread adapter and 6B shade,

too far out (because of the step up adapter), or both.

Anyone know where I can find a hood that fits/is designed for the lens,
either original or after market?

I'm surprised at the vignetting. A Series VI hood and adapter should work
well, though I confess that I am not familiar with a "6B" shade. You need
a 40.5mm screw-in lens shade and these are regularly available either new
(Harrison & Harrison, B+W, Heliopan, &c) or used. You also can use a 42mm
slip-on shade, a size shared with many Leica lenses.

The Zeiss Ikon originals are readily available as they were made in vast
quantities, though the Prewar versions are becoming a bit harder to find.
Check on eBay or with the larger collectible camera shops.
