One of the minor squibbles on my resume is that I am an Editor on H-War, an academic list sponsored by MSU. There are dozens of solid books on Patton but the most accessible are probably:

Blumenson, Martin. THE PATTON PAPERS. (Blumenson knew Patton and served under him on his staff in WWII, but the book is not a hagiography.)

d'Este, Carlo. PATTON: A GENIUS FOR WAR.

Farago, Ladislas. PATTON: ORDEAL AND TRIUMPH.

And, of course,

Patton, George S. WAR AS I KNEW IT.

Bibliographic information is on the web: I have been unpacking cameras of late and haven't gotten around to the whole of my military history books, though most of my camera references other that Prochnow have surfaced.
