However the main markets for this camera are Japan,
Korea, Taiwan and Europe. Cosina is selling this
camera in Japan -they are manufacturing it- and Cosina
decided to manufacture the camera with Zeiss because
there was interest very much in Japan about a classic
rangefinder camera with several options on Zeiss
lenses. Zeiss designed the lenses to be used with
digital cameras too and it seems that the Zeiss Ikon
camera body could be a platform for a future digital
camera to compete with the new digital Leica .
Only 1200 Zeiss Ikon rangefinder cameras will be
manufactured.-
