[rollei_list] AW: AW: SL 2000 again

Most SL35E and SL2000 could get the 1/2000 of second working properly.

Although you could not set it on the dial wheel, you could get the 1/2000 s by
just using A modus and use the led in the viewfinder showing "plus" or so.
So this was the diode reserved for the 1/2000 s. And if the diode was on
(and/or fixed by pressing the shutter or the exposure lock), the 1/2000 s was
fired.
My tests showed, that the 1/2000 was at least much shorter than the 1/1000 s.

So, do not worry to use the 1/2000 s if you need it.

I believe all the shutter were the same, it was just a matter of tolerances.

The SL2000F was intended to have the 1/2000s (as the name suggests) but
tolerances were hard to keep so serial cameras never went beyond 1/1000s.

Jan Böttcher shows prototype parts on his website
(http://www.janboettcher.de/), for viewfinder scale and shutter speed dial.
The pictures are a little bit difficult to find but they are there (under
Rollei Report 3)

Sven

Betreff: [rollei_list] SL 2000 again

Hello everyone,

Today I was contacted by a lady who owns her father's 'SL 2000F motor'
camera. Special is that it has a max shutter speed of 1/2000 sec instead of
1/1000 sec. It is also made for 72 exposures. It has the extended switch on the
magazine.

She wrote that her father was a Rolleiflex dealer and that this camera is a
prototype for the 3003 and that 50 cameras were made.

I believe that all 3003/3001 cameras still have the 1/1000 sec shutter, so this
new shutter was not introduced in the series cameras.

Does anyone know about this 1/2000 sec shutter?

Best regards,
Ferdi.---
