Most SL35E and SL2000 could get the 1/2000 of second working properly.
Although you could not set it on the dial wheel, you could get the 1/2000
s by just using A modus and use the led in the viewfinder showing "plus"
or so.
So this was the diode reserved for the 1/2000 s. And if the diode was on
(and/or fixed by pressing the shutter or the exposure lock), the 1/2000 s
was fired.
My tests showed, that the 1/2000 was at least much shorter than the
1/1000 s.

So, do not worry to use the 1/2000 s if you need it.
I believe all the shutter were the same, it was just a matter of
tolerances.

Yes, all them use the same Rollei electronic symetrical shutter. The
"plus" diode in the VSL3 E and SL35 E and 2000 looks like an additional
shutter speed after the complete diodes sequence from 16 sec to 1/1000th
sec in the viewfinder. Instruction manuals say "plus" in A mode could
indicate the exposure is out of the camera range. Facts are that the
measurement is out of range when all the diodes are lighting up
simultaneously, if the "plus" diode lights up only, the measurement could
be or not to be out of the camera range; "plus" will be the fastest shutter
speed beyond 1/1000, otherwise, without "plus", the fastest shutter speed
would be 1/1000. Most cameras at the time had a flickering mode for the
slowest shutter speed or the fastest shutter speed if the exposure was out
of the camera range, but they did not have an additional mark or diode to
indicate it. The Rolleiflex and Voigtländer E and 2000 cameras have a
"plus" diode.in the viewfinder shutter speeds scale. It is the 1/2000
shutter speed marked in the firsts "Vitoflex E" (VSL3 E pre release
version) shutter speeds dial and in the 3003 camera shutter speed dial.
