As I said, there wasn't enough demand this year, so no Ilford run on the ULF
program :(

 

I am just about ready with my own film cutter so that I can re-spool some
Portra for myself.  You need to cut the paper and film separately, so that
the edge issue isn't an issue (paper has to be wider than the film itself).
Once you handle that, then it's on to re-marking the numbers (or at least
the start arrows and the first frame) and then trimming to length.  I
haven't heard of using an entire strip of 120 on a 127 spool successfully,
alas.

It's far cheaper to re-roll 120 if you want to use 127. The cost of 120 is
virtually half of 127. It's a PITA but works quite well. There are many DIY
cutter videos on the internet. The only proviso is that the camera is
loaded/unloaded in very low light levels and immediately put in a light
proof container. The backing paper edges may not be a good light seal
against the spool.

 

You can buy rolls of 127 width FP4 negative from Ilford on their annual
large format film run

There are a few re-spooled films about, but availability is patchy and
prices are stratospheric.  There is (or was last I checked) some HP5+,
some 160 speed color neg, and some Agfa Aviphot 200 (I think, the same
base material as Rollei CR200), as well as Rerapan 100.

Overall it is much cheaper to shoot 120.
