Hi Thor,
Will you be traveling with the film and could you carry it with you?
I frequently travel between UK/US and UK/EU, and I've never had any noticeable
troubles with x-rays, and I have done my share of worrying about it. I've heard
that only faster film might have trouble passing through an x-ray, and on those
occasions when I was carrying something of higher speed, I simply asked for my
film to be inspected by hand. No security personnel has ever refused my request.
Best,
Dave

Subject: [rollei_list] Safely transporting unexposed film?
While packing up some things for an impending move, I found another box of
APX100! Yay! 50 more rolls.
However, I don’t want to put them in the container, as the temperature inside
will most probably vary widely. Nor do I want to check them into my luggage, as
the x-rays used there are quite strong, and taking a box of 50 rolls as carry
on for manual check seems a bit much.
I was thinking perhaps I could simply put them in the mail and send them that
way, but am not sure if mail these days is x-ray’ed or not.
Any suggestions for safe transportation of 50 rolls of film in a box? From
Europe to the USA.
Thanks!
Thor
