Thank you Steve! You are correct about rumors that spread false information
and attempts to cast fear.
It is time for people to start acting like adults and stop this foolishness!
Rodgers has been and I believe will always be a great instrument and a great
company! Move on people and lets do what we are called to do “Lead people in
inspiring worship and create beautiful music”!
I have seen in the past when I worked for Rodgers Chicago (yes for Steve for
11 great years) churches that owned a Rodgers that would not call us when they
needed maintenance, they would call the local (keyboard) guy. Then after they
screwed things up even more then would call us and say “I need service today,
my organ is not working. (on a Friday afternoon) We would go and do everything
we could to help them out! It is the responsibility of the owner to make sure
they properly maintain their instruments by contacting authorized service techs
for Rodgers. There was one church that purchase a Trillium 837 from another
congregation that closed their doors. They moved it themselves. Put in the
church and then installed the audio system. Fortunately the amps used a
factory made cable so they could not connect that incorrectly. But funny thing
was they connected the speakers wrong and had the 1.7’s connected to the sub
channels. It was a mess. So then they decided to call us to correct their
problem. This is just one of many occasions, Between Steve, myself and few
other people out there we could write the book on organ dummies 101!

Dear List,
As one of Rodgers Top Ten dealers, I feel a need to respond to some of the
comments expressed in Digest V5 #24 (and earlier versions).
First, I have had NO PROBLEM getting parts from Roland to repair their
instruments..... Recently an owners MX-200 was damaged by a massive power
surge. Even though this product has not been built for SIX years, we were able
to secure the necessary parts from Roland Japan to repair this unit.
Secondly, with regard to the Alpha Dials called into question.... Even though
we have installed hundreds of instruments with Alpha dials, I only recall two
that had issues and they were replaced by Roland with haste.
Enough of the rumors. I have seen no change in Rodgers' ability to supply
replacement parts during the past 16 months of new ownership....We have over a
thousand owners dating back to 1965, and none of them have experienced a
problem getting parts and service from the GOG. Let's move on.
Thirdly, I wish the moderator of this group would not let people vent rumors to
the extent it has been done this past month.... Our Allen Dealer in Milwaukee
(John Pankau) has copied many of these rants into a document which he has
circulated to at least one prospective client in Wisconsin. It is not really
fair that those of us that do a great job installing organs and taking care of
customers are faced with having to defend ourselves against users that do not
maintain a relationship with a dealer to solve their issues. Nor should we
have to defend ourselves from various competitors like Neil Weston who the
moderator mistakenly believes would know more about Rodgers' current state of
affairs even though he chose to leave the company shortly after the GOG
acquisition. Understand that I miss Neil and his energy which helped us become
the #1 dealership in 2015. However, Neil has moved on and so should this group
to more productive conversations regarding Rodgers' amazing sound, intuitive
operating system, and its bright future with the GOG.

Subject: [rodgersorganusers] Roland C-330 Owner on the US west cost has a quest
Date: Tue, 9 May 2017 09:11:34 -0400
Owners are concerned, I hear, since there has been no announcement of the
current policy on parts and service on the existing Rodgers and Roland organs
by the new company, Rodgers US.
I am confident that Roland, having built all the boards in the Rodgers and
Roland organs since the introduction of the most recent organs - which are
still being assembled in Hillsboro, OR - the only change is the wooden consoles
being built by a subcontractor supplier to GOG in the Netherlands - has a firm
in writing agreement to cover these organs.
Owners seem to want to know about this…and details are sketchy. Is there
information on the Rodgers US website for owners abut this?
Here’s an email that arrived this morning.
Hi Noel. We corresponded long ago about Roland's C-330 organ. Long story short,
my rotary selection dial is not working properly. I called Seattle's Roland
repair center. They never heard of a C-330. The technician was not able to
download the service manual. But when he looked at the specifications online,
he was laughing that the instrument had "stops, pistons, pedals." He thought it
was some kind of joke and basically didn't want to bother with repair. Roland,
as you know, called back all C-330s and their warrantees. They divorced
themselves from Rodgers Instruments. I'm in a pickle. Do you have any
suggestions on how one might get a repair job done?? In the meantime, I'm going
to scan your website for things I may need. Thanks, Noel!

My C-330 had a totally non-functional Rotary Dial after only a few months' use.
The local Rodgers dealer, who had sold the instrument, ordered a new part from
the Netherlands... it took about 6-7 weeks to arrive.
The dealer installed the part (no cost, since we were still < 1 year old), and
no charge for the labor (company policy).
However, the console is already showing signs of wear and tear, and so I fully
expect that we will need to find a different console in about 5 years.
Beautiful sounds... while it all lasts.

I’m confident that this statement is based upon what little information that
the public and owners have received about the sale of the Rodgers company and
the decision by GOG not to include the Roland C-330 and 380 in their purchase
and marketing in the US and worldwide market.
The C-330 and 380 represented a not insignificant share of the business done by
Rodgers dealers.
The Roland C-80 Harpsichord, built upon the same platform as the C-330.380 and
the Rodgers Classic Series organs, is still in production at last word.
We await official word from Rodgers US about this issue.

https://www.roland.com/us/support/service_repair/ ;
<ttps://www.roland.com/us/support/service_repair/%20> You will note that the

Parts for the Classic instruments are provided by the Roland national
service center in Ontario, CA. I recently had to get a replacement display
panel for a C330 under warranty (for the first time) and one of the techs
at the service center, Spook (yes...that's his name), was most helpful.
Phone number is (323) 890-3771.
Since most Roland products are small enough to transport or ship, the
service centers are accustomed to customers bringing keyboards, etc. to the
center for repair. I would imagine most (if not all) of the regional
centers have never seen a C330/380 and would be completely unfamiliar with
it. I suggest maintaining a relationship with the dealer and/or a local
organ technician who can get parts from the national service center and
provide field service to maintain your organ.

As far as console deterioration - I have a wood-working customer who looked
into having the entire case disassembled and copied in real wood. In a few
years that will not only be possible, but affordable with laser scanning and 3D
printing.
Note that this case consists of replaceable parts and panels unlike the Rodgers
organs of the past - which were solid furniture designed for years of service,
with old models being gutted and reused!
