Ya know, I've never used the pistons? I find other organist's piston registrations a bit muddy for my tastes. that's because I had teachers who use to teach clear tones and not muddy up the sound with all kinds of junk. If you used flutes, stick with them, Woodwinds or strings etc. Pistons, were shortcuts. He might've used them but I never got into it. My new Rodgers has pistons on it and I will have to learn to set them up and to use them.....but for the most part, I choose my own basic settings and augment them as I need to manually. ----- Original Message ----- From: SRGibson1@xxxxxxx To: rodgersorgan@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, July 13, 2003 8:14 PM Subject: [rodgersorgan] Re: WRITE DOWN YOUR PISTONS Some really nice and helpful organist leave a brief list of the piston registations on the organ to help the visiting organist.
