Certainly not offensive to me. We all need to continue learning as long as
we are alive. My father use to say jokingly to my mother from time to time
"Everyone is a little strange except you and me, and even you are a little
strange sometimes". So I guess everyone has preferences, prejudices,
and opinions that others might not always agree with. But the sign of a
well educated person is being willing to be tolerant of the opinions of others.
At our church we occasionally have trumpets, tympani, violins, drums,
cellos, trombones accompanying -- or being accompanied by the organ
along with a good sized and capable choir. Marvelous to hear.
Years ago they used to have a "guitar mass" but it was
unpopular and so was discontinued. Every church is different.
