It is their organ.
If they want your advice they will ask for it.
There is no reason today why someone needs to pay markup on common, available
parts.
They need a bulb/bulbs, they order them on AMAZON and have them in 2 days. You
will not get that service nor that price from any organ company.
Then they pay you to put them in.
If they chose to try and do it themselves…
Then they pay you a lot more to fix the damage that they have done.
When you buy a bulb from an organ company through a tech, it has been marked up
in price from, in order:
1. The bulb manufacturer.
2. The organ company.
3. The dealer.
4. The technician.
Every person that touches the bulb has to charge for their time, packing,
shipping, typing a label and so on.
A fifty cent bulb becomes $5 or even much more in a very short time.
Techs, like car mechanics, would rather have the owner get the parts, and pay
the tech for his time and knowledge.

Noel! What are you doing? This information is not supposed to be shared with
the public? You ask why, well first off it is something that invites trouble!
What kind of trouble. Well let’s just say, owner A has an expression bulb out.
Has a tiny bit of knowledge but not enough! Then he goes poking around in the
back and gets confused front to back of the rack! Solders the wrong spot and
turns the organ on and poof. Goes from a $70-$150 service call to a $2,000
service call cause he just screwed up a major component of the organ. YOU OF
ALL PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW BETTER!
Folks, I am not trying to be a jerk here. It is just in my 11+ years of
working as Rodgers tech that I have seen the best of intentions cost folks
thousands of dollars. I also belong to an on line group that does the all out
decorating for Christmas. Time and time again, people are on chat or forms
asking how to tap service from non use of electric stoves and dryers. Time and
time again, we hear of how this shocked the shit out of me, or things starting
smoking, or why did this glow and I had to kill the breakers. Use licensed
trained people to take care of your investment!
The moral of the story is this! If you are not a trained service technician.
Don’t mess with it. Pay for the service call. YOUR INSTRUMENT IS WORTH MORE
THAN that by having you a non-experience person poking around!
