True story here.... A few months ago I got a panic call from a (new) organist at an LDS Church. She knew the "M1" settings were "carved in stone," but curiousity had gotten the better of her. She managed (without knowing the "how") to unlock M1 and changed some of the registrations. She thought the organ would return to default the next time it was powered up; but once unlocked, those changes will be retained. She was sure she was going to be cast straight into organist's hell. Of course, restoring defaults is easy, and I walked her through it.... after which she breathed a big sigh of relief. One of the differences between the 790B and the 790C is that M1 on the 790B has a default of "unlocked" and the 790C has a default of "locked." The defaults of any single memory can be restored by holding the respective memory piston (for about 5 seconds) until the "locked/unlocked" banner appears in the LCD, then making sure it is "unlocked" and while continuing to hold the respective memory piston, press and hold SET for about 5 seconds... until "M(n) Defaults Restored" appears in the window. The 790C's factory piston settings on M1 were specifically designated for the 790C by the Tabernacle organists (Richard Elliott, John Longhurst and Clay Christiansen) for use in the LDS churches. Of course, M2, M3 and M4 are available for your personal favorite combination settings.
