If you are planning on going for your L3 certification and building that
rocket, I suggest considering what you could do with it after the L3 flight. I
think many people launch their rocket and after the expense of buying the M
don’t see much of a reason to get a similar motor and launch it again. So, I
suggest if you are designing and building it, do it for that larger motor, or
being a booster for the two stage rocket you are going to build and fly at
BALLS or XPRS. I changed the size and length of the motor mount for my L3 that
started out being a Nike Smoke and I’m glad I did. It will make a great
booster and has a 98 mm instead of a 75mm motor tube.
My 2 cents.
