Really hoping your back up ran too David. Been anxiously awaiting your
photos.

Hi guys,

I've been away on business travel with very limited internet access since
getting back from RS (ask Chris K to check the whiteboard in my bay if you
don't believe me ;-)), so apologies for not having kept up with the chat
discussion.

Unfortunately my laptop suddenly appears to not be able to find its
filesystem on boot, so a longer response about pad stability will have to
wait until I'm back home on my network with access to my backup drive. (I
really hope my last backup ran before I left, because I just pulled all my
RS photos from the camera right before leaving :-( ) I definitely have lots
of thoughts on this topic after many weird experiences with N10,000s and
N5600s...

I'm willing to stock up for another K1440 race next RS but it'll be up to
you guys to organize everything but the motors, and I doubt we can ever
wring that price out of Jeroen again... But don't worry, I'm working on
coming up with the next idea to pitch to the Wildman team for something
even cooler!

I’m sure we can come up with things to investigate and even reduce this
misalignment problem.

Who’s interested in a Punisher 2 mass launch? I think we should use the
same K1440 engine and leave it up to each flyer if they are going to modify
the rail buttons, pad, whatever else. We have lots of time to collect
details on each project.

Chris, would it be possible to post some details of the AC stand used to
test for misalignments?

Do you think that creating a way to hold the rocket on the pad until max
thrust is achieved would help?

I’m wondering why David Reese has not joined this discussion because
wouldn’t he be one of the best people to advise on something like this?

Again, I think building a large launch pad/test stand for ROC launches
would be cool and we probably wouldn’t need the contribution of many people
to do it. We could use the pad at Black Rock for XPRS or BALLS. Again,
I’m offering to buy the trailer for the project.
