Hi David! Keep this simple. run down to Lowe's or Home Depo, (whichever
you prefer), and get some of the 1/4-20 threaded rod. You'll also need a whole
mess of nuts, SAE washers, and fender washers. You will also find U-bolts
there for the shock cord mounts. For the rods between the centering rings,
assemble the rod through the drilled hole in the ring, put a fender washer,
washer, and nut on each side. Do this for all 3 centering rings. You can also
adjust the ring to position the fins between them, tighten everything down, and
put a dab of epoxy on the rods near the nuts once you're sure that's where you
want everything. Use the U-bolts with fender washers on the bottom side for
your shock cord mounts. Use 3 or 4 threaded rod assemblies in the avbay.
I've built a bunch of large projects like this, and never had a hardware
related issue. :-)

I see most ebays are assembled using 1/4" all-thread. Does anyone use
5/16" or 3/8", or is this just overkill?
I plan on using all-thread between the centering rings, as well. Given
that they will be epoxied in place, their main role is to help
distribute forces to the recovery system, so I'm thinking that 1/4" is
probably sufficient for that as well, but am I making a bad assumption
here? Are others using larger-diameter all-thread between centering rings?
Thanks for all responses...
