Hi,
I took a look at a utility I've heard about but never bothered to find out what
all it can do.
Wizmo from grc.com is a very handy command line utility that can do many
windows commands. You can change the volume level, open or close a cd drive,
force windows to shutdown even when it doesn't seem to want to and more.

I setup a windows shortcut to run wizmo, unmute the sound card, and change the
volume to 80
%. I gave it the name of unmute and setup a hotkey for the shortcut.

This way if the sound card ever becomes muted I can press the hotkey and wizmo
will unmute the sound card and set the volume at 80%.

There are many other options for wizmo and they're all on the web page.

the podcast each show is transcribed and available in several formats. For
