If they are copy protected, I have not found a legitimate way to read them on the iPhone or iPad. That does not mean that it cannot be done, however. But Adobe Digital Editions works very well on the PC, in fact, it works a lot better than the hideous kindle PC app, as you can use typical screen reader commands to review the text. Far more convenient to read on the phone for sure. -----Original Message----- From: Reginald George Sent: Sunday, December 04, 2011 10:17 PM To: real-eyes@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [real-eyes] Re: nook for pc If they are EPpubs couldn't you read them on an IPhone in IBooks? -----Original Message----- From: Jim Fettgather Sent: Sunday, December 04, 2011 10:14 PM To: real-eyes@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [real-eyes] Re: nook for pc If these books are from the Barnes and Noble bookstore, they can be read with Adobe Digital Editions. This is a free program that can be downloaded from Adobe.com, and Epub books read very very well using this application. The books purchased from Barns and Noble are copy protected, so upon opening the book, you will have to put in the credit card that you used to purchase the book, the credit card number is also used as a password of sorts. If the books are not copy protected, they will simply open and you can read them right away. -----Original Message----- From: Mitchell D. The Amazon reader is supposed to be blind friendly, but we don't have those here, so can't tell you for sure. There is an Amazon reader for the PC as well that is supposed to work but never got round to testing it out with screen readers. -----Original Message----- From: real-eyes-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:real-eyes-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Valorie Stanard Sent: Sunday, December 04, 2011 4:56 PM To: real-eyes@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [real-eyes] nook for pc I'm sorry if this is an old subject, but can anyone help? I am getting ready to go back to school. I have found some of my text books at Barnes and Noble, and they seem to come on jnook with a pc ap. Does anyone know if that is Jaws accessible? They talk about all the wonderful things you can do in the books as you go through tem, and I'm sure that wouldn't be available, but if anyone knows, I'm very interested. I don't want to waist a lot of time re-inventing the wheel!
